How to Adapt Music for Students With Special Needs
1. Use Visual Support. Visual aids in your music lessons can help your students understand how to do the activity.
2. Incorporate their favorite songs.
3. Use rhythm.
4. Keep the music going.
5. Provide non-speaking options.
Children with functional needs benefit from music education. The following music activities can develop skills that students can use in the classroom:
- Listening to music increases focus.
- Singing enhances communication skills and improves speech.
- Memorizing lyrics can improve a student’s ability to remember academic concepts.
- Rhythm develops and refines motor skills.

Mindfulness and Wellbeing
Research has shown that singing can be good for you on many levels. It may help lower stress, boost immunity and lung function, enhance memory, improve mental health, and help you cope with physical and emotional pain.
There’s an increasing amount of evidence that singing releases endorphins, serotonin and dopamine – the ‘happy’ chemicals that boost your mood and make you feel good about yourself.
Singing increases poise, self-esteem and presentation skills strengthens concentration and memory. Singing broadens expressive communication.
Practicing singing technique, quality time management, creativity, words learning, memory of what teacher said, frustration, dealing with self criticism.
We aim to tune you into the natural soundtrack of your life
