Aims & Objectives
With the provision of workshops and training opportunities through the medium of song and music we are able to increase confidence realise skills not previously aware of.
Music has been proven to be very therapeutic as proven in illnesses such as Parkinson's
By encouraging new skills we have found this forum to be filled with much fun and laughter.
To bring about trust and assurance which might have been lacking because of past situations
The work we do helps to increase understanding and empathy between cultures and ages
A very safe environment where everyone is welcome there are no restrictions as to who can take part
Increase self esteem help to reduce anxiety, depression and anger
It's a fantastic way to meet people and most importantly bring about a sense of community
We encourage positive feedback where no one will feel out of place
LCGC CHARITY IS HERE:
To perform to local community audiences and spread the appreciation of music
To improve individuals’ skills and confidence in singing
To create a group ethos in which people can sing and perform together and make friends
To provide open access to the choir and acceptance of all singing abilities
To improve individuals’ health and well-being through being part of an activity
To take singing to groups in the community such as care homes and disadvantaged young people
The activities employed to meet this objective include the following:
Providing a high-calibre weekly training programme for all ages
Promoting and supporting musical and choral education to all regardless of their financial or social background
Delivering open-access workshops irrespective of their training or experience
Financially supporting talented singers to enable them to receive the highest standard of musical education
